They say the Colt Peacemaker ended the era of hostility in the Wild West. That’s not true–it was the bluegrass G chord.

Okay, I am going through the intermediate guitar series Checklist and I am wondering what order I should go through them so that they build on one another? I have been playing rhythm guitar for a while and always get lost when starting to try improv, licks and runs. I love your teaching style and decided to give Gold pick a go. I need a little direction for best/“quickest” progression.
Thank you @BanjoBen
Hey @dillingerjonathan04! Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your membership.
I would recommend going to the beginner checklist and finding the videos with simple melodies for songs and flatpicking tips…just skip over the lessons you already learned/know the material. Also check out the bag of licks lessons, those are always helpful for creating solos. You can also use the search bar and filters to find the material you are looking for.
Hopefully this was helpful.
Drop another comment if you’ve got any more questions.
Thank you! I will go back and look over that beginner checklist. I am understanding and following a lot of intermediate things so I thought the beginner videos would be to “basic”, but I am quickly finding there is a lot of material in them that will help me build on what I have. No place to be proud. I thank you for mentioning bag of licks, too, I will check them out.
I am excited for this community and encouragement.
Yes! It’s a great community. The Gold Pick Membership was the best investment I made for my guitar journey. I’ve learned almost everything that I know on guitar from this site.
The roadmaps are built so that after you’ve worked your way through the beginner, you have most everything you need to explore any of the intermediate content. Bag O’ Licks lessons, build-a-breaks, and PickAlongs are where you should spend some time, then ask questions as you go and as you encounter challenges.
For what you mentioned, this is a lesson that lots of folks love…check it out: https://banjobenclark.com/lessons/improvising-with-target-notes-red-haired-boy-guitar-intermediate
