Most bluegrass flatpickin’ tunes are played out of G, C, or D positions, so I thought we’d change it up a bit. June Apple is in the key of A myxolodian, but we’re going to play it without a capo! I really like the second A and B parts, where I work in some cool triplets that give it a Celtic feel.

It’s been a long time since this lesson got some love. First, this is an outstanding arrangement. Great work Ben! It really pushes you outside the box to play in A mixolydian mode with no capo. Highly recommend for any player looking to push outside the usual G or C based songs!
