Discuss the Guitar lesson: Inside Cabin Camp with Cody Kilby

https://banjobenclark.com/lessons/inside-cabin-camp-with-cody-kilby-guitar-intermediate

My fall Cabin Camp featured a couple of guitar greats telling stories and pickin’ tunes for my guitar campers’ session. What a time! Cody Kilby is interviewed here by Kenny Smith, and they discuss their connection, Winfield lore, and stories from the road. Enjoy! And if you’re up for a zoom lesson from Cody, shoot him an email at KilbyCody@yahoo.com

I’m not a guitar picker but Cody is high on my list of favorite guitar players. I will definitely work in this guitar lesson!

I have been a member for a couple of years and this is my first post. My flatpicking has soared since I joined and I am so appreciative of what happens here. I just wanted to say thanks and that I thought the video of these two great players was very special. I thought the conversation about taking care of your hands was very relevant because I always seems to be fighting that battle but, at the same time, I fully intend on slowing this video down a few dozen times just to study the Billy in the Low Ground intro, there was just a wealth of stuff to be had there.

Thanks again, I really like it here.

“Billy In The Lowground” has always been one of my favorite leads to do! I do a lot of crosspicking in the higher registers on the lead to that.

I remember Kenny Smith when he and his wife’s band played at the Oakboro Music Hall in Oakboro, NC.

Colby Kilby has always been one of my favorite lead Guitar and Banjo player. He recorded the Guitar and Banjo Lead to “Frankie Belle”, written by Molly Kate Cherryholmes, one of my favorite instrumentals! Banjo Ben, we’re counting on you for that at a future date, please?!

Just curious, Ben, when is Cody coming to the cabin to do a lesson?

Regarding you personal favorite of Cody, does the bass player ever get poked in the eye from the fiddler’s bow? Just curious.
