This classic English carol is at least 200 years old! It has lyrics, but the instrumental version is such a joy to play. I also cover the drop D guitar rhythm approach.

I took a look at the lyrics and they refer to the three ships and Bethlehem. Since Bethlehem is not a port it seems that the “Three Ships” refer to the camels of the Magi who followed the star. Camels are called the “ships of the desert”. Pretty cool.
From the Banjo Disscussion
These are the three ships mention in the song.
As was told to me as a child at school
I wonder if the composer was giving a nod to the idea some deserts used to be sea bottoms. Would’ve shown great wisdom. Sand dunes are quite wavy though.
I love this arrangement? Been working on it a few days. Trying to learn that Bm7add4 ( ! ) is killing me.
That’s hilarious Archie.By the way Ben could you do a guitar lesson on Clinch Mountain back step ? It’s probably one my favorites I’ve played around with it .It’s just that it starts to sound like the famousTony Rice lick repeated 17times.
I love this version !
What brand guitar are you using in this video,Ben?

Hey,dave3! Do you remember meeting Cody Kilby for the first time? He’s such a nice guy!
By the way Ben,is there any way you could tab out Cody Kilbys welcome to china song?
Great song! I don’t have the time to do it, but @Michael_Mark may be willing to do it work-for-hire if you want to work it out with him.
