Discuss the Guitar lesson: Guitar POV Pickalong: Unclouded Day

Let’s pick! The point of the Pickalong lessons is not to teach you a tabbed solo or backup, but to get you actually playing along by using your eyes and ears! Don’t forget that you can slow down the video!

@BanjoBen, this is seriously the best thing that has ever happened to this site. Keep it up!!

@BanjoBen the video says “unlcouded” instead of “unclouded”

Fixed, thanks!

Thanks man! I bought it last Saturday night. George Gruhn came to my house and brought it, knowing I have a weakness for shade top Martins. He didn’t go home with it.

That’s my Director of Operations, Daniel! He did a great job.

I HATE how Vimeo squashes the audio! It sounds so much better when I upload to YouTube or Facebook.

Are you going to stay with Vimeo on the new site?

Yeah, it makes the most sense–so many folks use them. I going to talk with them about it.

“George Gruhn came to my house…”
Name dropper….

I don’t name drop. If there’s one thing Taylor Swift taught me, it was not to drop names.

Thud. Oh, look… a name.

Ha!

That is a nice headstock! You can maybe bribe the kids to change the strings :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Is that a 12 fret? I never saw the shoulder, but it sounds a bit like one.

Yep! 12 fret slope shoulder! https://guitars.com/inventory/aa12006-new-martin-custom-18-style-dreadnought-12-fret-w-master-grade-sinker-mahogany

That’s a very nice guitar. Not sure if the pics are of your exact one, but that back is gorgeous! The 12 fret dreadnoughts really do fill a different niche. I hope you enjoy it!

I still think you ought to train the kids to change the strings  I picked a 12 fret slot head out for a neighbor. She always brings it over for me to change the strings. That’s the only time I am not thrilled with the slot head.

What do you mean, new site?

Ben’s planning a shiny new site remodel! I think late 2022 or early 2023 was the expected finish time. I could be wrong though.
