Discuss the Banjo lesson: Wayfaring Stranger

thanks for the info!

Yes, Archies link will give you the chords in A minor. (may be easier to play in G minor with banjo). Once you have the chords, you can strum your banjo to a 1, 2 and, 3 and, 4 and 1, 2 and, 3 and 4 and pattern.

Hope that helps.

Have you watched this bluesy backup lesson? https://banjobenclark.com/lessons/bluesy-backup-banjo

Long story short, stay away from the open B string. Be familiar with the minor blues scale: https://banjobenclark.com/lessons/intro-to-minor-blues-scale-banjo-advanced

Work some of these licks into those rolls: https://banjobenclark.com/lessons/bag-o-licks-blues-banjo

The recent discussion here got me to try this one. I like it alot! You could play right along with the Johnny Cash version.

My band does it in C#. I just capo up, and use the chords from Bens version. One of my favorite songs that we play.
