Discuss the Banjo lesson: Shady Grove- Build-a-Break

Hi everyone! Just purchased this lesson to play with a friend. In the YouTube video, Ben mentioned there would be instruction on how to play backup for this song. I’d like to start there instead of the break/solo, but I don’t see where that is in the video lesson.

Any tips? I am newer to three-finger, so I’m just trying to play backup for now.

What’s up, @trials.boulder.9v! Welcome to the site! For backup, I’d recommend looking at some of @BanjoBen’s lessons on rolls and backup. You can really just roll over the chord progression,… Sometimes simple is better.
