This is really 3 lessons in 1, as student-favorite Kristin Scott Benson further explains the banjo neck in a way we can all understand.
Discuss the Banjo lesson: Inside Cabin Camp: Chord Scale Transitions with KSB
Interesting topic. Would like to have had some resources to help visualise the context of the lesson.
Wanted to add that the lesson doesn’t include a tab since Kristin puts the emphasis on the concept rather than the actual examples, but if anyone can’t figure out any example she’s playing, etc. just let me know the timestamp and I’ll post a transcription here.
I understand that @Michael_Mark however just watching/listening to the lesson it’s hard to make out what she is referencing also she constantly refers to a handout she is reading from during the lesson.
I have the handout from that lesson somewhere at home. I could scan it and upload it here if that would be beneficial.
Great Idea
Eye opening lesson, particularly as a follow up to the Alan Munde’s Fretboard Geography series. My banjo lightbulb really lit up! Thanks KSB.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate the superb video editing done at 13:56 on the last video? If you’re just listening to it, you won’t catch that things were spliced right there. I literally LOLed. Nice job!
Kristin somewhat botched a break and then threateningly exhorted the cameraman about said break not making it into the video, so I made sure to cut that part out for Daniel’s safety.
I looked for the handouts from this lesson last night so I could post them here; and unfortunately, it appears that I have misplaced them. Looked everywhere and could not find them.
KSB is one of the best banjo players around and a terrific teacher! Love this lesson!
Hi @BanjoBen could you possibly share a copy of KSB handout to accompany this lesson. I am finding it hard follow her LH fingering.
I have kindly petitioned her Highness for the tablature that accompanies this presentation. She shall reply as her schedule allows, I might suppose.
Thank you so much. Nobel Sir!
