You’ll be pleased to hear all these things get easier as you gain knowledge and skill. After a while you learn to focus on the stuff you don’t know and everything comes together much more quickly. There is no gain without pain

oldbanjoe50

where is the melody in tab .Have problems following from first to second part of melody.

Hi @Carl_Wells The melody is mostly on the first string. If you are following the printed TAB do yourself a favour and get TEFView and download the TEF TAB file it will help you hear the melody and speed your learning progress.

Archie I’ll have to get someone to show me how to do that.

Hey Carl, check this out:

Hi @Carl_Wells Michael beat me to it by posting Ben’s video. If you need further help just holler and we will do our best to help

Well it took three days but FINALLY figured out how to install and use Tefview. Had problem of old one installed. New one /version wouldn’t install till old one deleted. Yall right it does help figuring out the melody. Even if it’s kinda twangy sounding. Thanks yall.

That application you describe is TablEdit and is worth every cent if you plan on writing/editing you own TABs.

Now that you have TEFView installed there is nothing to hinder your progress.

A word of CAUTION. Not all TAB TEF files are the same @BanjoBen 's TAB are excellent but if you should venture over to the Banjo Hangout or other TAB resources on the WWW in search of TABs it can be a bit of a hit and miss. Some are poorly written.
