Is this song a beginner song?

No Chad, it’s classified as Intermediate although that said the first break is not too difficult and I think an experience beginner should be able to manage it.

I may wait on it then. Yeah, would like to learn some beginner gospel songs to play.

Hi Chad Why not set a goal and use the first break as a challenge. Let’s just say, be able to play it in six months. It’s a slow tune so I think that is doable. You could start with finding the melody today and once you feel comfortable start work on the first break. The second break is quite tricky so just set that aside till you gain more experience.
Having a goal helps you focus on your studies and practice as you work through the beginners section. It’s important to watch and listen to the video as @BanjoBen explains what he is doing. As this lesson is aimed at the Intermediate student there maybe things Ben leaves out of the instructional part because it’s something an Intermediate student should know. Good Luck

I agree with Archie in that you may should challenge yourself to the first solo in this song. Let me know how it goes!

Okay. Yeah, I’m googling how to find the melody notes in the song. :). Never done that before.

I watch you play the melody only and as you go up and down the 1st string I note that you seem to use both your ring and index finger for fretting and do not often use the same finger twice in a row. Why which finger where. Seems like something I should know. maybe it will be covered when we do the break. Thanks.

Hi @JohnM FYI FREE membership does not expire it just has limitations on unlocking up to three lessons. Which the Silver Pick member has continuous access so long as they login.
Nod. If she has unlocked her three lessons then she can’t unlock more. I am pretty sure when that happens members are prompted to take out a Gold Pick membership. It’s been so long since I first signed up my memory is fading. @BanjoBen will keep her right.
PS Just looking at her stats I don’t think she will have unlocked 3 lessons.

I don’t fully remember how that was with me either. You might be right, or she might get the follow up emails at the end of 1-month.
As for the stats, that’s what I also thought initially, but then since she had mentioned she tried several days without success, I assumed the clock for the stat might have started from the time she first posted here, and not from when she joined.
But then I’m doing too many guesses and assumptions… But yeah, based on her response, Ben should be able to get it fixed.
