Discuss the Banjo lesson: Higher Ground- Banjo Lesson

Hello,
Is this song in the key of B, or is it the relative minor?

My best,
Morris

Hi @msuttles Morris it’s in the Key of B it say’s so right at the start of the intro on the preview.

Hi Archie,
Thanks. I was curious because I didn’t see a B chord in the music.

If you Bar the 4th fret you have a B Chord.

Hey Morris, this song is in the key of B, but we’re capoing at the 4th fret and playing in G—the chords are written in the key of G (that way, you can think the same chords with the capo and without), so that’s why there’s no B chord written in the music.

Hello Mr. Ben, i was just wandering if you tuned the 5th string to B? I put the capo on the 4th fret, but it sounded off. or do you just play the 5th string in G?

Definitely l tuned up to a B, using the railroad spike on the 9th fret.

Ok, thank you so much. I don’t have the spikes so il have to tune it.
again thank you
