Discuss the Banjo lesson: Banjo POV Pickalong: Unclouded Day

Let’s pick! The point of the Pickalong lessons is not to teach you a tabbed solo or backup, but to get you actually playing along by using your eyes and ears! Don’t forget that you can slow down the video!

This is excellent Ben. So beneficial to understanding roles in a jamming setting and song sequence for each instrument and great examples for how and when to use your learned tools in the kit bag (licks, runs, technique) while in group jam setting. Keep’em coming.

The absolute best, most practical jam lesson I have seen. Love to see more, but I know it’s a lot of hard work.

These jam tracks are excellent. Playing along with the vocals makes you feel like your’e playing in a band. Great work

This is great and just what I need to help me advance. Thank you for doing this with a great old gospel tune.

Ben, I vote this banjo/mandolin/guitar combination as the very best lesson you have provided when it comes to helping us understand how a jam should go together. I’m a banjo guy and I loved your back-up choices that got progressively more difficult as we got further into the song. A listener and wannabe player would hear the more advanced licks better after having heard
the more basic stuff.

That’s Daniel who works for me.

WOW! What a great lesson for backup… 100% improvement in the first few days. It’s hard to stay focused on learning backup and not learning new breaks, but I’m staying the course. My goal is to be just as good at backup as I am at Salt Creek or Clinch Mountain Backstep, or any other instrumental song I play.
Thanks Ben

This video excellent! It’s exactly what I needed … a close up visual of a pro playing a simple tune from kickoff to end AND with comments included. It really puts things in perspective. Thanks Ben!!

Love it! Especially the up-the neck stuff! I’m new to this. Do you have a track without the banjo and the voice? With that I could record myself then play it back to see how I did. Thanks Ben!

Thanks! No, I only have one without the banjo for now.
