Deep in the Heart of Texas

I had the experience of vacationing in Texas with my entire family this week. Man, it was HOT!

None of us have ever had Whataburger or In-n-Out. Was surprised they’re both all over down there. We couldn’t come to an agreement on which was better. They were both good.

Jammed with a cool guy from Tyler, TX at a campground, who has met Ben, and spoke glowingly about all the charitable work Ben and his sisters have done in TX. (And, especially about putting their careers on hold when they’re dad was sick to help care for him).

It was a great time.

So, we had to stop in Texarkana, for a while to wait out the storm. Stayed in Ennis, the first night, at a campground, Spent three nights at Oak Forest Campground in Austin. Went to San Antonio and visited The Alamo and the Riverwalk. My grandkids got surprised by the “bushman” in The Riverwalk and they loved that.

Pretty sure it was Casa Rio we ate at on The Riverwalk. (Ehhhhh). My kids and grandkids did the gondola tour.

We did the burger comparisons in Austin.

The rest was mostly staying at the campground and enjoying the pool and playing music.

Wanted to get my picture by Stevie Ray Vaughn’s statue, but didn’t get a chance.

Had our family of 10 traveling in three RV’s. Something we had never done. Truly a blessing.
