A simple question. Has the banjo player Dave Hum been a well known banjo player? Or what do you think of him? He plays very special, but I’m thrilled. R.I.P Dave Hum

He was a good picker with his own unique way of approaching the instrument. I liked listening to him a lot.
He is quite well known among US banjo players who are involved in Banjo Hangout.
I would say he is not that well known among the US general music community.

I discovered him about a year ago and really like him. I bought his two albums and they’re really great on a road trip.

I’ve known about Dave’s music for about 6 years. (I’m not in the banjo hangout.) I found him thru YouTube’s suggested videos. Alot of nice nuggets of his music there. It is sad that he passed at the young age of 46.
