So I have be following closely the progress of the Mars 2020 Mission since it launched last summer. Looking forward to seeing some amazing images and video’s over the coming weeks months and years.
Congratulations to NASA & JPL - Mars Persevere Rover has Landed
Here at Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama we’re developing the rocket that will join up with this guy in a few years. Perseverance will load samples into the nose cone and we’ll launch from the Martian surface to intersect with an orbiter. At that point, the samples will head back to Earth on another ship. Yesterday’s success meant I still have a job.
It has been a remarkable success so far! Congrats to all involved for a job well done!
As an aside, I do not understand the desire to put humans on Mars. COVID-19 lockdown is bad enough, but being stuck in an apartment on Mars sounds even worse!
I guess folk thought the same when Christopher Columbus sailed across the Atlantic and discovered America
