What was it that first got you interested in playing the guitar, mandolin or banjo?
I love to sing and teach our kids
How long have you been playing and what’s your motivation to play?
9 Years, the ministry, social interaction, desire to teach others
What’s your favorite lesson on Ben’s site and how has it helped you improve?
Basic guitar rhythm, just playing clean, to build the backbone of our singing
What’s your goal when playing?
Really just to glorify God, I have all 6 of my kids playing other instruments as well and this program has been invaluable…
Are there any other instruments or genres of music that you enjoy playing?
We are blue grass/country gospel, old stuff, played a saxophone in jr. high and sr. high school and I grew up playing a drum set
Do you have a favorite technique? What is it?
Nope, just a rhythm player, my oldest son-in-law is an incredible flat picker
If you could play in anyone’s band, who would it be and why?
Born Again or Bruce Frye, both local bands
What type of gear or accessories have you found that work best for you?
I have 3 Taylor guitars, 200’s-400’s, we like Elixir strings w/ nano web
If money was no object, what would be your dream instrument(s)?
I’d buy a nice Martin, I don’t know much about them but know they are really nice
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
Continue advancing my playing, I’m a Pastor of a local church and work construction as well, not much time and I already do not sleep much

Thanks to Ben and the crew for the time they have invested in playing and explaining and how they do it, we have been invited to two local public school where we teach every month and your website is always a topic of conversation, we have introduced good gospel music to 100’s of high school kids right in their own classroom, be nice to add some simple voice lessons
