Butch Robins Presents- Blue Grass Music

So today I went searching YouTube for a lesson on Jerusalem Ridge. It’s a tune that has always been in the back of my mind to learn but I always thought it too big of a challenge then I thought to myself I learned Alan Munde’s Peaches & Cream and Lime Rock (Note to self you need to revisit Lime Rock) surely I should take on the challenge now or I’ never will. So that’s my goal for the next few months.

Sorry guy’s I kinda drifted off topic, anyway I pulled up Butch Robbins video of Jerusalem Ridge and he talks about his five part video series at Radford University so of course I just had to share this with you. It’s important that you learn about the history of the banjo and the people who can really play banjo and not just focus on our own banjo journey! Be an educated banjo player then you’ll not be as dumb as other’s may think you are.

Now to find a lesson on Jerusalem Ridge I wonder if Bill Keith teaches this. Wish me luck

Nice find! Looking forward to hearing more bluegrass origin stories. I have heard a hour interview with Butch Robins so I know he has some axes to grind about the past, but that’s often entertaining.

Thanks Archie!
