Blue chip thumb pick adjustment?

Hi there, I posted a short video on my YouTube channel about the issue I’m having fitting my Blue Chip thumb pick. I’m not sure how it needs adjusted to fit better, and I’m not sure how to get the thing to bend nicely.

Please help me not mangle my pick!

Thanks,
Michelle

Howdy Michelle! I think Jake had a video on fitting thumbpicks, but I can’t remember where it was. The best I can remember is that I used two longnose pliers and could tweak the curves to match my thumb shape. The bluechip band material is pretty stout, but the good news is: once you get it set for your thumb, it will stay that way.

Thanks! I am wondering if I should have just bought a small Blue Chip in the first place.

Ah! The old trial & error method! I know it well.
It does get frustrating when a size Large from one place is totally different from a size Large from elsewhere.
Luckily, there’s almost enough money in my wallet to try again.

Thanks @Archie. I still can’t find the one I thought I remembered, but here Ben adjusts some with pliers. Hopefully that helps.

Thanks for the link! This is super great for me to go back and review now that I’m a little further along and have forgotten all about it.

I’m realizing how dicey the fit of my thumb pics has been and I’m wondering if that’s why I’ve had trouble building speed. They kind of all sit too close to the knuckle and I think it makes me move my thumb more than I should have to with a proper fit.

i’m realizing the only thing I have that comes close to properly fitting is a slick pick. I did order a small blue chip and I’m gonna see if that fits straight out of the container, if so, I think that’s my best solution. Or just stick with slick picks.

hi Archie, thank you for posting that video link, that one was also very helpful! I could immediately see that most of my picks are sitting too far from the tip of my thumb. There are so many little details to figure out, thank you for the help.
