Ben's tuning vid

Ben has this tuning vid on youtube:

In short, he likes to flatten his B string a few cents. I do the same. On the banjo, I find I need to intentionally play with a lighter left hand because of the thinner strings. I have ended up flattening the B string a bit on the banjo as well. Anyone have any “sweetened” banjo tunings that work well?

The B string on the Banjo usually has to be tuned up a little for the 3rd fret to match the first string. On the guitar I usually have to lower the 2nd and 6th string a little.

Interesting… I have to flatten mine a bit to match the first string on my banjo.

I get similar on guitar, but on some guitars I’ll flatten the A a bit as well.

Thanks!

I heard someone say one time when you tune your banjo, tune the B string to the D note (3rd fret).
