Bella fleck technique

Is saw a video where Bella fleck played a fast scale. By starting with an open string and then playing a note on the seventh fret. Where it goes from there I don’t recall does banjoben teach this scale?

Hi @davidsonpaul78 Paul it’s hard to say without some sort of video or audio reference.

@BanjoBen recently published this lesson covering all the G Major scales on the fingerboard.

He’s probably doing a melodic scale and Ben does have lessons. Look for introduction to melodic banjo.

That’s a very common melodic run that @BanjoBen has taught many times in different songs. The old advanced version of Bill Cheatem has that quite a bit.

Hi @Shaky_loves_banjo

I think we are still trying to figure out which scale @davidsonpaul78 Paul is talking about. Several scales start on an open string and pass thru a fretted note on the seventh fret. It might be a melodic scale or a pentatonic scale, a Major or a Minor scale, Chromatic or even a Blues scale. It’s all a bit vague.
