Forum - Banjo Ben Clark

Beginning on your site

I have justed started as a gold pick member. I have completed the three alternate thumb finger style lessons. What songs do you recommend that are good to start with. Also are there any lessons, theory that you recommend. Thanx

Hey there @ldefrank. Welcome! You will find the most helpful, friendly, and humble folks here. As far as music theory lessons, I know the beginners track for both guitar and banjo have them. I started at the first lesson and went from there. With the great teaching from Banjo Ben, the encouragement (and counseling) from many others, I have loved every minute of it. I’m excited about the journey you’ll have with @BanjoBen and hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Pick On!

Welcome to the fam Leonard. There are so many good people here to help you on your new adventure in the Banjo way of life. Oh Susana is a very easy beginner song to start with ( so you can play something that resembles a song till you get better) But start the lessons from he beginning and don’t rush it. It takes a minute to get technique and timing and all. But remember you will get out of it what you put in so be patient and most of all HAVE FUN!!! the ride is worth it. Look forward to seeing you in the forum and HAPPY PICKIN!!! :sunglasses:

Thanks I am looking forward to it. I actually started to play back in the late 60’s with Mel Bay. Things have come a long way since then.
