Banjo Player in Bryan/College Station

Hi all,
Sadly our banjo player recently moved far away and we really miss having a banjo in the group

We are non professional -we play for free at community centers, retirement communities, fund raisers etc…

If you want to play or may know someone else who may please let me know.

thanks

Is that within range of @Mark_Rocka? It seems like there was someone else around CS, but I don’t remember who it was.

I wouldn’t say I’m close, but for Texas, that isn’t all that far away. I’m in Humble, soon to be moving to The Woodlands (slightly closer.)

Sounds like fun. What kind of songs are in your set list? Shoot me a PM if you want and we can exchange contact info.

I’d make the drive (94 miles) if y’all would come this way too…

We mostly practice once a week on Thursday and we may play a anywhere from 0-4 gigs per month
We are totally armatures, my wife is a decent fiddle player she could skip practice and do just fine, the rest of us are spotty. Great ability is not a requirement -just muddling through is just fine. Non of us a great singers ether we all take turns but it is not a requirement.

We just try to have fun
but we usually get invited back so do not totally suck.

Hi JohnnyD
Thanks, I am open to driving some. Usually we stay around 50 miles or so but mostly because we don’t know of other places. Sometimes it gets hard to get all of us together in one place because we all still work. And some of our senior living gigs are on week nights. Me and one of the guitar players are the most active and likely to drive.

Probably we are at a level where a half way decent player could step in with no practice and match our playing.

Next week, there’s a big to do in Bellville, TX.

That looks like fun and isn’t that far away
I will share the info with my group and see if I can get some interest

thanks

Oh ouch. I don’t know if my schedule would allow me driving to CS every week. I’ll know more once we get moved and settled in. Thanks for the follow up!

Yes I understand even getting us all together when we live in the same town is hard enough
It could be you or someone else is at a level where practice is not needed (someone with band experience)

I just figured I would put this out there and maybe get lucky and find a local
