Gunnar, I liked it in both. It does fit in well in JH!

This is Ben’s lick with Ben’s guest, Tony Wray. Tony’s lick is tagged on to Ben’s lick.

Thanks @xmark! It fits well in both JHs, as Mark Rocka also demonstrated!

@Treblemaker, nice picking! Did you get a new recording king banjo while I wasn’t looking?

Nice, Jack! Very bluesy. I’d like to hear it with your right hand closer to the bridge to get some brighter tone. Tony’s lick is meant for drive.

I hear you Mark. Thank you for that suggestion. I’ll try that. I was very displeased with the tone. Just got this banjo saturday, so I’m working on getting used to it.

Yes, I did @Dragonslayer. Very perceptive. :+1:

Here’s a link to an mp3. I used the D-lick in a version of Nashville Blues played in standard tuning except spiked 5th string.

It’s been 22 days. I think this was one of those “The challenge is its own reward” things.:blush::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::laughing:

I’ll try to add a video here of the lick on mandolin (in a song) and possibly fiddle too

Love it!

Here’s Red Haired Boy on mandolin with the lick thrown in a few times. It was more difficult to get it into songs on mandolin than banjo
