Here’s my submission out there in YouTube land!
Banjo Ben's "Teach Me Something" Contest!
to 'BanjoBen 's Forum Jade. May the force be with you. I was never much of a Trekkie
What great entries! Will announce the winner/s next Thursday night at 7pm central!
Love it, kiddo! Well done. Putting that sweetheart in my guitar lick toolbox!

I can’t wait! (But I guess I’ll have to).
Well please don’t interrupt Sam Bush’s HOF induction speech or performance
@Stuart.Gamble I don’t think I’ll go to the Awards Show this year. Some of us went last year, just to say we did it once, but it’s 4 hours long and I’d rather jam!
Hey Hunter, that’s not baaa-ad!
Jade, I love the GWhiz chord. I think Ben’s introduction to the competition said he wanted to be inspired to pick his instrument up. I dunno about him, but I was inspired. Unfortunately, with my anatomy and/or a wide neck mando, I can’t get the middle two fingers in the right position. Still, mission accomplished! I picked up the mando!
As a side note, people often ask if there is any downside to a wide neck mandolin. I guess we found one!
Nice lick @Flatpickin_Libby! Do you normally end it on 3? You could easily shift it to end on 1 as well.
I tried it as well, but instead of blaming my mandolin neck (I don’t know if it is a wide neck or not), I blamed my fat fingers. It is difficult and I will need a little more practice.
I tried to sorta fake-green screen my video against this photo, but never could get it to work well enough…
Yes it starts on the “and” of 4 and finishes on beat 3. I should have said in the video to start on an upstroke. No time in one minute… . It sure could be shifted around to different beats though!
Thank you!
Hi Todd you need to mess around with the layers. Push Ben’s photo to the back of the stack. Also getting the lighting right can be a bit of trial & error
