Let your heart not be troubled my friend. If you went there and played perfectly, you would get nothing out of the camp and the Staff would not be able to give you instruction! So, I’d say, go, have fun, make mistakes, and reveal your natural bad finger habits and learn from the helpful suggestions. ENJOY YOURSELF!

Yup. My 10 song goal I made in January isn’t gonna get hit, considering I barely touched my banjo the whole month of February. :frowning:

I’m looking forward to meeting everyone.

which one is it?

If you want, I can send you a simplified version of the lesson Ben just released if you think it would help.

Thanks Mark, I’ll keep hammering away. I’ve got two weeks left yet to get it. I appreciate the offer

Well Mike, that’s the one you’ve had the least amount of time for. That one is probably my favorite of the nine. The one that still hangs me up is Wildwood Flower in C. It’s probably one of the easiest for almost everyone else but for some reason, it keeps tripping me up.

With Whisky Before Breakfast, I found that I got better at it when I started bobbing my head from side to side, picturing myself in a pretty sun dress prancing through meadows on a beautiful spring day. Give it a shot, don’t forget the prancing

Wait, what? There are only nine assignments, right? Am I missing one?

Yeah, but not all memorized and not all up to 100% speed. I think already knew three of them. I’ll need my music stand with tabs. I have some backup down for four of them I think, but again, not memorized.

Whewwww! Had me worried there. That would have been a great gag to pull on everyone though… two weeks to learn a new song.

I think you should reconsider the prancing visualization.

All I got to say is it would take an awful lot of whiskey before breakfast to get me prancing around in a sun dress.
Maybe it would be more like a stagger.
And I don’t even drink whiskey.

Great, now I’ve got mental pictures I just can’t shake!

Aw don’t knock til ya try it bud. :dancer: You don’t actually have to do it, just visualize it. It’s guaranteed to improve your playing of this tune. I know one or more of you will try it and it will help, but I bet no one will admit it.
