Ambrotypes are direct positive images, so they are reversed because of how optics project images onto surfaces.

LOL, no worries. It’s part of what makes wet plate collodion images unique. If I shoot it on clear glass, I can intensify the image and use it as a negative for printing. I will do some of those soon and print them in platinum.
