I was in Pittsburgh with my son, attending our first NFL game a few weeks ago. We got there a day early to take a tour of the stadium. While we were waiting in the lobby, I look over and see Tim Surrett (bassist, lead singer) from Balsam Range with his wife and son. I don’t know who was more excited, me for seeing a real live professional bluegrass musician out in the wild, or him for getting recognized out in the wild. I had just seen Balsam Range back in August when they came to Ashland, VA. If you ever get a chance to go see them, I highly recommend it. I’ve never had a band connect with the audience the way they did. It was like we were all friends there.
