Hey, y’all! Just curious to know if anyone knows of a program that will create banjo/guitar/mandolin tabs from a video uploaded into the site? I know that musescore can do that for standard notation; I’m wondering if there’s anything to use to get tabs.

Interesting, haven’t heard of this ability but wouldn’t surprise me if it existed…that would be a game changer, even if mostly accurate.
This query came up on the Banjo Hangout a few years back. I think it was posted on April 1st. There are apps that can detect chords/chord progression from audio one such app is Chordify
Just insert the audio / video address and click start.
Thank you so much! I’ve actually been using Chordify for a couple of years now to learn to play songs on the guitar.
Just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your lessons. I’ve taught myself banjo for five years, guitar for three, and mandolin off and on for about 9 months. However, I’ve only been able to start about half-way through the beginner banjo track. God has blessed me with the ability to pick up instruments fairly quickly (I placed third in a plucked string solo on the guitar less than a year after I started learning; in fact, it was those judges that first referred me here). You have helped me hone that talent so much (even though I’ve been a member for only a little more than a week)! I learned more in the first three days of being here than I did in the five years of trying to teach myself! I’m starting with the banjo, and can’t wait to see how God will use what i learn here for His honor and glory! Thank you for providing such great material!
Thank you so much, Chris! You are a great encouragement to me!
You don’t even know what you’ve done for me! I think my family might be getting tired of it, though; a lot of what i talk about now is what I’m learning here! Makes for kind of old and boring conversation after a while!!!
