My wife and I are in the process moving to Tyler, TX (well she is already moved and I’m still in Monroe, LA on weekdays until the end of the month for work stuff). Anyway, this weekend we went over to Kilgore for the monthly music jam at the Kilgore Mercantile. I brought the guitar since I’ve been working on the most right now and my mandolin is probably rusty. I have to admit there were time playing rhythm that I missed the mandolin, especially when we play in the key of “C” and I needed a quick F chord.
My wife Robin said next time she’s bringing an instrument. I didn’t take lead on anything but now that I’ve been once, I will feel a little more comfortable when the lead circles around to me. We had a nice evening of music, which is my goat in learning.
