Anyway, that's where the Shubb's capo came from

I’ve been trying to find time to work on a melodic (banjo) three finger style version of Midnight on the Water and watched this old time fiddler Benny Thomasson.'s version looking for ideas. I thought, “Is that a young Ricky Skaggs playing the guitar?” Turns out it isn’t but the bass player is Markie Shubb.

Turns out Markie Shubb was married to Rick Shubb, who invented the Shubb capo. The description of how that came about is a veritable who’s who of the Northern California bluegrass scene. Anyway, that’s where the Shubb’s capos came from.
