Another Ear Piece w/Focus on Position

A New “Ear Piece” with a focus on staying in the correct position/knowing where I am at based on the CAGED System and moving triads/scales.

I’ve not been able to play in a few weeks. Finally got to pick it up and work out a new “puzzle” by ear. How long does a “puzzle” like this take for me to get to the current level (a little sloppy but will improve)? I put about 16 hours into figuring this out and getting it up to speed.

I’m currently about 18 hours into “A Thrill Is Gone” (Grisman/Garcia) and just about have it up to speed. …anyone want to join?

Gotta love Garcia & Grisman!
How long does it take me to get up to speed on a “puzzle?” It never occurred to me to keep track of the time.
Ever since I retired I stopped watching the clock. :grin:

I kind of keep track just so I can judge how I am improving.

16 hours might seem like a lot…would have taken me 40 last year. ha ha.

I’m just busting roicks, I guess I have 2 years of practice left to hit my goal. Patience.

Still working on the rhythm on (edit!)Thrill is Gone… :grimacing::grin: Am, Dm, E, F, etc… play it Dawg-like, rinse & repeat in a funky jazzy kinda way. Just barely starting to scratch the surface of the actual break. Prolly gonna be a while…
