Alison Krauss and Robert Plant

I was just curious about any reactions to the 2 released from this seemingly unlikely duo?

I think their first collaboration sparked the CMT Crossroads series.

I liked their first “Raising Sand” project. Moody, enchanting, and very cool… I was a fan.

The new project, “Raise The Roof”, follows in the same lane and is very atmospheric… and they did a CALEXICO cover!

Similar to Calexico music… I find that when I want to hear Alison/Robert music… it is just very unique and not easy to substitute… only these artists will do when I yearn to listen to this unique style.

I just saw the new live performance on CMT.

I was also curious to ask @BanjoBen if his path ever crossed with Alison or Union Station?

I know this isn’t typical Bluegrass but still find it uniquely inspiring…

Thoughts anyone?

I’m friends with Ron Block and have met Jerry, but that’s the extent. I’ve played shows (CMA awards, etc.) that they were on but never worked together, so to speak.

That is awesome! Amazing players!

I was fortunate enough to see them just a couple of months at a small venue here in Utah. They are amazing together! Not quite bluegrass, but not Led Zeppelin either. Just fun music.

@situationnormal.71 I live in Salt Lake. Did you see them when they were at the Sandy Amphitheater? I wanted to go but I was out of town.
