Alan Munde IBMA Hall of Fame Induction

Hey folks, Alan Munde will be inducted into the IBMA Hall of Fame on Thursday night. Bill Evans, Steve Smith, Tim May, Missy Raines, Sam Bush, and Jerry Douglas will accompany him on stage. The Awards Show begins at 7 p.m. Eastern and there will be video running on the IBMA Facebook page. Most likely the induction will come near the end of the show. Rumor has it that Bill Evans will be kicking off Peaches and Cream with Mr. Munde. For those of us that have joined Banjo Ben’s Live events with Alan Munde and Bill Evans or attended Cabin Camp, this will be a pretty special thing to see. Here’s the link to watch live.

The honor is well deserved. Alan has been my inspiration since the 70’s.

Were you there @BanjoBen to see him receive the award?

Tim May (guitar), Steve Smith (mandolin), and Bill Evan (banjo) are long time instructors at Alan’s Camp Bluegrass in Texas. It was really cool he had them playing with him at IBMA.

Those 3 are playing in Waynesboro, VA tonight and the Richmond Folk Festival tomorrow. We’re fortunate to have them in the area this weekend.

You know, I’ve never been to IBMA. Maybe one day.
