John Hartford was an extraordinary man.
He wrote great songs & he wrote peculiar songs.
He played banjo & fiddle and sang & danced while playing. I can barely chew gum and walk down the street.
John Hartford defied labels. He’s not “Bluegrass,” but had a huge influence on bluegrass music.
Us Old Geezers remember seeing him for the first time on a summer replacement TV show starring Glen Campbell. This picture is neither Glen Campbell nor John Hartford, but David Holt, the man who did the interview in 1996.
Enjoy the time with an old friend.
Or enjoy the time meeting a legend.

@BanJoe Have you checked out the new Sam Bush album Radio John? This was Bush’s tribute to John Hartford. Bush plays all instruments on the 9 Hartford songs (mandolin, guitar, fiddle, bass, banjo, plus vocals) and co-wrote a song about Hartford.

I have, and enjoyed it. It’s obvious Sam knew him as a friend as well as fellow musician.
