I only recently started using a service that actually tracks this stuff (YouTube Music) so I guess you’ll have to wait till next year
What are y'all up to?
Wellll, we’re getting over about 2 straight weeks of various sickness in my house. We’re under contract (again) to sell our house in Nashville and that’s been crazy, and a few other things that have really put a hitch in my giddyup…but I’m still thankful, especially for all y’all here on the forum.
I’m 3 months into one of the largest projects we’ve ever done here at the campground. I’m building a “Glamping Village” which will add 5 luxury tents with kitchens, bathrooms, multi-level decks including a sky deck. The snow put construction to a standstill today, but here is where I’m at: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=10231409704376596&set=pcb.6984365331677895 (Sorry, the pic was too big to post & I’m not “techy” enough to make it smaller)
Hey Ben (@BanjoBen),
I hope y’all avoided COVID. Ellen, my father and I all came down with it during the holidays—dad was in the hospital and El and I quarantined through Christmas Eve and day. My dad is still in a recovery facility. Nasty stuff this year. We’re on the mend, but just thought I’d commiserate with you. Hope your house sale goes well this time. Looking forward to seeing you in Athens this Spring.
And David (@Buckeye)— your project sounds neat. Still hope to camp at your place someday. Take care.
I kind of wondering seeing your face. You have to be careful with cholesterol and sugar. If so, I’d control it through diet.
That is a lot going on, my friend. Prayers for everyone getting better and things moving on the house.
I’ve lost about 35 pounds the last 4 months because I started eating like people ate 100 years ago. Consequently, my face has begun to look like theirs as well.
Today we begin an expositional journey through Ephesians at our church. I’m honored to be part of the preaching rotation. It’s one of my top favorite books in all of Scripture, especially chapter 1. Y’all have a good Sunday!
I think I sort of did that too. You get hungry which I had not felt in long years! And avoided to some extent overeating (not that I eat too lot), junk foods, sugery foods, snacks etc. I have decided to eat an apple a day, maybe I should eat carrot a day too. When you go back to normal dieting, you will get your texture and glow back!
I assume you mean eating things grown in the east Texas gardens like greens, peas, okra, asparagus, tomatoes ,cantaloupe. What do you mean when you say easting like people ate 100 years ago?
No foods with added sugar or processed/fast foods. Actually I did 90 days of carnivore diet which was meat, dairy, and eggs only. Even the meat had to be sugar free, so no cured bacon or sausages that had added sugar. The withdrawals I had from sugar were very, very tough. In fact, it was tougher than when I quit tobacco after 22 years of use. Sugar is that powerful, and it’s in just about everything. The first 30 days of no sugar caused most of the change in my physiology…lost about 20 pounds in 30 days. I stopped snoring, needed less sleep (no naps, either), and body aches (like my back and tennis elbow) went away.
After the 90 days I introduced a few things back in but still organic foods: homegrown veggies, heirloom corn tortillas, etc. Over the holidays I let myself go back to my old diet for about a week and it hurt me pretty bad. I did have some weight gain but what was extremely evident was the inflammation and joint pain that returned. I can’t go back to it now.
I have made similar changes to my eating habits, and had similar results to yours. And of course experienced the same consequences during the holidays. 5 yrs ago I went to a nutritionist and asked “do I just need to run more?” His response “you’ll never outrun your diet.” Step 1 was to cut out sugar.
The Bill Cheatham lesson was the first one I’ve watched in about 3 months. I commented to my wife that Ben has either list 40 pounds or learned a new camera trick.
I’ve lost 35 lbs through cutting junk food, sugar and eating 2 meals a day. I too slipped a little over the holidays. One family event was a table full of yummy finger foods. I over ate that day and felt bad for two days. I’ve cut coffee back to three cups a day, max.
Y’all be patient with me! We are selling the Nashville house, finally, and it happened really fast. I’m now in Texas with all my studio gear trying to build another “cabin” to get ready for filming. If someone needs customer service here on the forum, best to email julia@banjobenclark.com this week. Thanks!
It’s been a long time coming but your nearly there
freed up the cash flow = new toys?
Buy a Ranger bass boat and some Titleist golf clubs and come on up.
Ha! More like get out of debt, buy a generator, drill a well, and stock up on more ammo
We have everything moved down (still in piles!) and we have a closing date for the Nash house! I won’t rest easy till we actually sign, though…been here before.
Daniel is flying in Tuesday to help me put more touches on the studio set and cut some more material. Exciting times!
Officially no longer a Tennessee resident any longer 🥹
We’ve signed the papers, and the house on Hessey Road now belongs to another young family who are going to really enjoy it. If you came to a Cabin Camp on Hessey, thank you for coming to my home…I have such sweet memories from that place!
