Vampimg and Triplets lessons

Greetings,
Some time back I watched banjo lessons on Vamping and Triplets in the Beginner Track. Both were very short and I think that they were part of larger lessons…not about these topics specifically. I would like to review them, but I cannot seem to find them and do not want to watch all of the videos to find them. Hoping that someone can tell me where I can find there these topics are discussed in the videos.

Thanks
Peter Martin

Hi @Peter462 Great to have you back on the forum.

Could these be the lessons your looking for

Hi Archie,
Thanks for the reply, I see the the second link discusses triplets. But, I have not watched the videos on teardrop backup yet. I have been working on the Basic Banjo Backup lessons for quite some time now, I seem to learn at a snails pace. And I noticed that these links come from the intermediate which I have not moved onto yet.

Hi @Peter462

Ok I think this might be the lesson your looking for Intro to Backup it’s part of the beginners backup course. That said I don’t think @BanjoBen covers Triplet’s in the Beginner section. Do you recall the tune Ben teaches in the lesson that might help narrow the search

@Peter462 I don’t know if it’s what you are looking for but he talks about triplets in the shuffle lesson and he talks about vamping in the intro to potatoes lesson.

Hi Archie,
The only thing that i recall about the vamping is that I think it was part of backup lesson because I recall that he mentioned that vamping was done to tone down the intensity of the banjo, so that it will not be too load. But I have been rewatching the basic backup videos and have not found it yet,

For the part on triplets, I remember Ben stating that some beginner banjo players get into the habit of playing triplets without knowing it and then they have trouble when they attempt to speed up there bpm.

Pretty sure the shuffle course is the one you are talking about with the triplets.

I don’t know if this is the one you’re looking for, but it does talk about vamping.

Hi @Peter462 There are several lessons throughout the website that touch on vamping. As you work through the beginners section your sure to come across them. It’s difficult to pinpoint the specific lesson your looking for with the info you have provided.

@Archie Thanks for trying.

@KevinB Thank you, I think that this was the lesson I was thinking about.
