Hi @Bhive Greg with the war going on in Ukraine I keep a watchful eye on military aircraft movements between the UK & the conflict zone on Flightradar24 and certain supply ships to UK military bases around the world.

I just happened to scroll through the most tracked flights on FT24 and saw a tanker was listed as having departed Mildenhall, thinking it might be heading to the Baltic Sea when I clicked on it I found the stack departing west over Cornwall. It was so unusual I thought I would snap the moment and share it with you all in case someone on the forum may have family on board.

I am guessing that these crews have been over here for months and are heading home to the US for some well deserved leave. There is a lot of NATO aircraft activity in Europe down as far as Turkey & the Black Sea and these tankers are flying 24 hour shifts to keep early warning radar and fighter jets fuelled. My only regret is I didn’t catch the screen shot when I first found it, all thee aircraft were clearly visible over Newquay

Are you a pilot?

No Greg I just check the FlightTracker when my family are traveling by air or if something appears on the news about the conflict in Ukraine. More recently with the US government shutdown I look to see what effect it has on flights in and out of the US and during the 2019/20 Covid closures in Europe
