crabbit

Crabbit

In Scottish, crabbit means ill-tempered, irritable, or grumpy. It describes someone in a bad mood or who is generally cross or cantankerous.

It’s a common word to describe someone who is feeling a bit out of sorts, for example, “His wife is really crabbit today”.

Stoater

Stoater

In Scottish slang, a “stoater” means something or someone fantastic, excellent, or the best of its kind. It can also describe a beautiful woman, a particularly good example of anything, or occasionally, a severe blow or mistake. The term is used for both positive and, in some contexts, negative or surprising things.

Fantastic or excellent: This is the most common meaning, used to describe a goal, a great idea, or anything exceptionally good. A beautiful baby.

Blootered

Blootered

“Blootered” is a Scottish word meaning very drunk or intoxicated. It can also be the past tense of the verb “blooter,” which means to hit or kick something with great force, often in a wild or clumsy way.

I decided to conclude this short Scottish Emoji Educational Course with the word Blootered. As the Auld Year comes to an end and the New Year begins you’ll see more Scotsmen Blootered at this time of the calendar year than you will at any other time as we celebrate or drown our sorrows till next New Year comes around.
That said most Friday and Saturdays you’ll occasionally see the odd Scot staggering in or out of a pub Blootered oot o’ his mind
