We (as taxpayers) are spending a lot of money on developing better helicopters. I saw something about it on TV but can’t find it now. The companies involved are working towards a faster helicopter that can still hover without crashing as frequently as the Osprey does. (I know the Osprey is not a helicopter, but it can hover like a helicopter and is a lot faster than a helicopter.) Anyway, here is Lockeed/Martin’s vision of the future of helicopters.
We are going to need those choppers when the Martians find out we are leaving a lot of trash on their planet and attack!
