Just calling your attention once again to the beautiful craftsmanship done by Ray on
any wooden banjo armrest.
Seems like wooden armrests are the current trend and Ray can certainly add that personal
customized touch to make yours something special … as you can see. :+1:

Kinda reminds me of a tattoo for a five-string!:scream:

It’s hard to see the engraving I think it would look better on white oak. Of course that would add weight to the banjo and for us Auld Yins that’s going to trouble.

Sorry, the lighting was not the best. It actually is more visible and attractive than the pic.
And it is actually engraved and not just tattooed or surface printed.
Not sure how a wooden armrest can add any noticeable weight to a banjo as
mine seems lighter than the metal version. One of my former instructors told
me that quality banjos were sold by the “pound”. I can vouch for that being one of
the Auld Yins myself and hurry as quickly as possible after I take my banjo out of the
case and get into my practice chair. Darn near wears ya out

Surprisingly oak is quite dense and next to mahogany or cherry it’s easy to tell the difference. Balsa is the extreme opposite light and soft. Oak was the natural choice for building wooden ships.
