Basic to intermediate fiddle arrangements

Howdy all

My 10 year old son has recently taken up violin. I play guitar banjo and a little mandolin. We have been jamming together on fiddle tunes recently. He is doing awesome. It’s incredible how quickly kids can pick up new skills. I’ll post some video soon.

We have some great arrangements of cripple creek, bile them cabbage, OJC, and he is killing the simple stuff and challenging himself with turkey in the straw and Arkansas traveler from the Bluegrass fun book. I also bought Jack tuttles book but it is a little too advanced.

Looking for simple to intermediate arrangements in standard notation of some bluegrass jam tunes like red wing and whiskey before breakfast. Anyone have a book recommendation.

Here he is doing Turkey in the Straw. Proud dad here. First time he picked up a fiddle in his life was mid January.

Wow, great job dad, and son! Great timing he has!

Any of my fiddle tunes on the site have TEF tab files that you can have displayed as standard notation and print them as well. Check out this video:

He’s doing great! I bet he’s doing enjoying playing with his dad. I’m hoping my 7 year old will start showing interest soon.
