Good that you got it sorted. though im a bit suprised. I have similar banjo and its not a cheap one. that should not have happened in that price range. in my opinion.

Hi Mats, I would say if the neck was loose just a little pressure on the drum whilst playing could cause that slight twist.

I noticed on my Fender when I I carried out a re-fret and replaced the head the connecting rods had worked loose with vibration over time. A lot depends on the amount of torque applied when the banjo was assembled also expansion and contraction of the wood and metal parts may have occured
