Anyway, the answers are 1965 (M5), 1973 (he bought it new old stock), and $135 (“One hundred thirty-five dollars for a watch?!” -J.D. Crowe, when Tony showed him the watch at the Holiday Inn that night)

It’s kinda funny when you think of all these legends talking to each other on a personal level. JD talking to Tony about how much a watch costed him :joy: I forget that they wouldn’t just go in the studio, play, then go back into their sacred caves. :rofl:

Yep, the bond between guys like Tony and Sam Bush was very strong. He’d known Sam since they were teenagers (Sam saw him playing and asked him to play with the Bluegrass Alliance).
