A New Banjo

Right now I’m playing on a handed down 1974 Washburn that was sold with out the name because it’s flawed some how. It plays fine I just want one that sounds crisper that won’t cost me an arm and a leg.

Alvarez made a lot of different models. Some were good Bluegrass banjos. It just depends on what you find. I’d make sure you are familiar with a flathead tone ring and what one looks like, and be sure you get a banjo with one. It makes all the difference!

Looks pretty good to me, it’s got a tone ring.

Be sure to look at Reverb as well, I saw an RK 35 for about $900 on there recently. I’ve never tried one but everyone says they’re really good, they’ve got a tone ring, 3 ply rim etc.

Actually got good news today apparently any left over fasfa money can be pocketed so my price range will be able to go up. What’s a good banjo for $1200.

RK 35 or 36. You could also take a look at the Gold Tone OB 150.
