@Lefty5string I love the term jamnesia! I, too, suffer from this disease, but didn’t know what it was called until now!!

We’ll have several levels of jams, so don’t worry about a speed, and don’t worry about “performing” them. Be more focused on letting go of your inhibitions so that you can get the most out of the instruction and interaction. Looking forward to it!
Hello! I’m SO excited to meet everyone, learn, and jam! This will be my first cabin camp and my first time traveling with my banjo so I’m looking for some advice.
I’ve got two legs (coming from SF bay area), both smaller commercial jets (Delta). My plan is to carry my banjo with me for as long as I can … meaning through TSA and to the gate … and then see if they will let me store it in the overhead compartment. I’m fully expecting that they will ask me to check it at the gate.
Is this the best approach? Any advice or tips?
Thanks and see you soon!
Jon
I’m driving up from Paso Robles on the 12th. i dont want to be responsible for someone’s $6000 Stelling or something but if it’s a Goodtime or something you feel comfortable with id be happy to tote it up there for you if you can meet me as i go by. Im doing a short tour of Thompson Guitars in Sisters, OR on the 13th then staying in Spokane and getting to camp by early afternoon the 14th. It’s just me if you want to ride along too but im detouring to Music Villa in Bozeman that Sunday after. I play banjo too but im signed up for guitar this time.
btw i just took a gibson hummingbird on a flight to wisconsin and it was no problem at all. first leg the overhead was too small so they put it in back somewhere and second leg it fit right up there fine and thats a big case. it was United though.
@Lefty5string thanks so much for the offer! From what I’ve read on this forum I think that if I pack some extra padding around the tender parts of the banjo and keep it with me, at the very worst, they would just take it at the gate and then give it right back to me for my second leg. Looking forward to meeting you!
