I just signed up for the Athens Cabin Camp. My name is Dixon and I’ve been playing mandolin a couple of years. I live in South Georgia and can’t wait for the camp. Looks like fun!

I look forward to meeting you at camp! My last camp was April in Texas. Definitely pay attention to the camp song list for Athens. You’ll want to know at least the rhythm for those songs (chord progressions).

Thanks for the Athens Song List tip! I’ve been working on those. I should have the chords progressions down soon. This is my first camp! I know it’ll be a lotta fun! I’ve been working on a few more like Shady Grove in Dm, Long Journey Home(Two Dollar Bill) in G, Dark Hollow in G, Bury Me Beneath the Willow, and a few more.

Where did you find the song list for Athens camp 2025? I thought I saw it but now can’t find it. Thanks!

Was it not mailed out to you I am pretty sure that’s what @BanjoBen does

Here you go @dunc3862, it’s the same list for all 2025 camps: 2025 Cabin Camp Songlist!

Thanks @BanjoBen for another great experience at the Athens camp—wonderful fellowship and amazing instruction! Katy’s lessons were so insightful for banjo. So much to work before the next camp. Your entire staff were so helpful and the Keeble’s are always very welcoming. If anyone is thinking of signing up for a camp, I recommend you stop thinking and just do it. Thanks again, Ben.

I can’t tell you how proud I am of you @JKL! Me and the girls bragged on you on our drive home–really hoping you keep pressing into that playing and singing. You have a gift and it’s so encouraging to me that you’re developing it now.

Thanks, Ben. It is fun and never would have happened without the encouragement you and your sisters provide at the camps.

@BanjoBen, you should do a Cabin Camp in Nebraska… Aw, never mind , I’ll be leaving late summer. I guess I’ll have to try to get to one somewhere else!

Hopefully, I’m in the right forum to ask this question! I was at the Athens Cabin Camp and Penny was our instructor/leader for mandolin. She gave us a “handout” of three pages titled The Two Boxes, mandolin. The Chop Box. Is there a video lesson for this?
I loved the Athens Cabin Camp! I’ve got lots to work on before next year!

There’s not a specific lesson for that currently, but I’ll put it on the list to create! So glad you came, @dixon1!

Thanks, Ben! I was just gonna watch it if there was one. Penny demonstrated it very good anyway. She is a great teacher!
Thank you for what y’all do!
